“Maddie's Fund is the fulfillment of a promise to an inspirational dog, Maddie, a beloved Miniature Schnauzer whose unconditional love, loyalty and spirit inspired a revolution.”

Thanks to Maddie.

Puppy Hill Farm Rescue is very grateful to the Maddie's Fund for providing us funding for construction of our new kennel. Maddie's Fund® provides funding to coalitions of animal rescue agencies in various locations around the nation. The Fund was created in honor of the beloved schnauzer Maddie owned by the Duffields, principals in People Soft and other businesses. This has been a driving force behind the success with the large reductions in euthanasia of animals at Alachua County Animal Services since 2002. This latest funding from Maddie's has provided us with a 10 run, concrete block kennel. This provides the dogs housed there with safer, more secure and more comfortable housing while they are with us. Thank you again to the Maddie's Fund!!

Thanks for Helping Us Save Lives

One Life At A Time

History of Maddie’s Fund

Maddie's Fund® is a family foundation endowed by the founder of Workday® and PeopleSoft, Dave Duffield and his wife, Cheryl. Maddie's Fund is helping to achieve and sustain a no-kill nation by providing solutions to the most challenging issues facing the animal welfare community through the combined efforts of Maddie's® Grant Giving, Maddie's CenterSM (hands-on animal care), and Maddie's InstituteSM (research and education).

Puppy Hill Farm Animal Rescue is proud to be a member of the Maddie's Pet Rescue Project in Alachua County. With our partner agencies, we are working on becoming a "no-kill" community.

From 2002 to 2009, Maddie's Alachua County Project helped Puppy Hill Farm and five other partner agencies reduce euthanasia and increase the adoption of healthy animals in Alachua County. Although the project formally ended in 2009, agencies continued to report their statistics to Maddie's Fund through 2013. Maddie's Fund also sponsored a special Adoptathon weekend in 2013, subsidizing adoptions by all the Maddie's partner agencies.

The The Maddie’s Fund was named for Maddie, a beloved Miniature schnauzer who provided the Duffield’s with 10 years of unconditional love and devotion. When PeopleSoft was formed, Dave promised Maddie that “if we ever make some money, I promise we will give it back to you and your kind so others can be as happy as we are today”.

Maddie has certainly provided the homeless animals of Alachua County and other locations who have received this funding with a wonderful opportunity to know and enjoy life in a forever home. In Alachua County, the project has been a remarkable success. In Year 0, the live release rate in Alachua County was 28%. In Year 11 (2012) the live release rate was 85%. We are grateful to Maddie and the Duffield’s for their help in ending euthanasia of adoptable pets in Alachua County and helping us to achieve our goal of becoming a no-kill community.
